2012 USBC Convention update
Bagged lunch for sale
The 2012 USBC Convention is only a couple of weeks away. Based on feedback from delegates, the USBC has worked with the Sheraton to offer delegates an opportunity to pre-pay at registration for bagged lunches.

Lunch will cost $8 each and will help alleviate problems with delegates not having enough time to eat lunch and make it back to their next activity. The bagged lunches will be available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Regional Manager round-up
The Regional Manager round-up will take place over lunch this year and will be a casual meeting, discussing the workshops and reviewing the goals of the associations for the summer. Please be prepared to discuss over lunch and for those that haven’t signed up yet, please click here and remember that in order to login, you will need a BOWL.com user account.

BOWL.com/convention
Don’t forget that all information related to the 2012 USBC Convention is updated regularly. To view the most up-to-date information, please go to BOWL.com/convention. Each page will have a date at the bottom showing the last time it was updated.

Breast Cancer Survivor Meeting at the USBC Convention
Customary with USBC Convention, we again will have a Breast Cancer Survivor Meeting. If you are a breast cancer survivor and would like to attend and be a part of Meet for the Cure at the USBC Convention, please contact Dania Demirci at bftc@bowl.com.

Removing duplicate bowlers in WinLABs

It is important for association managers to check their WinLABs database for bowlers with duplicate records. This can be done in WinLABs by clicking on “Tools” then selecting “Remove Duplicate Bowlers”. This tool has different rules used to determine if a member is a possible duplicate, so be sure to select the rule you want to use before running the report.

Once the report is run, the manager should go through and merge all members with duplicate records. Please be sure there is no doubt the two profiles are the same person before completing the merge.

Webinars for Microsoft Excel

We have received numerous requests for us to conduct a Webinar on how to use Excel, so we created a Webinar on this topic along with how Excel can be used with WinLABs reports.

This Webinar will be the first in a short series on Excel. The first Webinar will be a basic introduction covering terminology, formatting and basic use of formulas. We will then create another Webinar with more advanced techniques.

If you have always wanted to find out how to get started using Excel and wondered what the heck a .cvs file in WinLABs is, then join Regional Manager Jim Zebehazy for his “Zebinar” titled “Excel and WinLABs – Working Together.”

There will be sessions held on Wednesday, April 11 at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Eastern, as well as Thursday, April 12 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Those interested in joining one of these Webinars can send an email to Jim at jim.zebehazy@bowl.com along with your name, association name and email address with your first and second choice. Space is limited to 25, but if interest is high, additional sessions will be scheduled.

Join us for one of these one-hour sessions and increase the tools you have to enhance how WinLABs can help with your job!

WinLABs 10.0.7 now available
Version 10.0.7 is now available on BOWL.com/associations, or by clicking here. Associations can log in using their association number and supply order password.

The new version contains an update to youth averages that are entered in the Youth Processing System. Prior to this version, the averages would be sent to WinLABs via a national data change but the information would not be retained in the database. While this information is only pertinent to associations that contain youth members, we still suggest all associations update at their convenience.

Legislative Update presentation

We would like to thank everyone that was able to attend the Legislative Updates presented across the country as well as the webinars hosted by the USBC Board of Directors. We received a great amount of feedback and are thankful for everyone that participated.

For those that were unable to attend or anyone looking for more information regarding the proposals that were covered, the presentation that was used can be found by going to BOWL.com/convention and click on Legislative Meetings, or click here.

Please remember there is a workshop at this year’s Convention dedicated to the presentation. Delegates will have the opportunity to go through the presentation with USBC President Andrew Cain and Legislative Committee Chair Tamoria Adams and can register at BOWL.com/convention.
