“Find a” functions on BOWL.com
In the coming weeks, a preview of the new “Find A … ” functions (Find a Member, Find an Associaton, etc.) will be available on BOWL.com. Please familiarize yourself with them and, as always, feedback can be sent by clicking on the “feedback” tab on the right-hand side of the page.

Please note the previews do not contain full data and additional data will be added during the coming weeks.

RJM Composites kick back panels
USBC recently has been made aware that the company RJM Composites is selling high-impact kickback panels (please see picture) that are not USBC approved. It is possible these have been installed in bowling centers seeking USBC certification and we need our center inspection teams to keep watch for this product.

For those that may be aware of centers with these plates installed, we are asking that you notify our Center Inspection Coordinator Steve Boyle by email at steve.boyle@bowl.com or by phone at 817-385-8407.

The information we need is the center name, number of lanes affected, the local association name and, if possible, the date the panels were installed. We will then contact the bowling center and resolve the issue. We thank you in advance for your assistance.

Welcome Letter message in WinLABs
With the new season upon us and memberships starting to be processed, it is important for associations to verify the information in their Welcome Letter bullet points. Please remember this is the information the members will see when they receive their membership cards, so it’s a great time to publicize the association’s website and dates for their local championship tournament. To edit this information in WinLABs, go to “Setup” and then select “Welcome Letter Message”.

In addition, all associations that have association websites should make sure to update the address in the association properties tab of WinLABs.

IBC Youth updates
In case you missed last week’s youth update, there are some exciting new membership products designed to help grow your association’s youth membership. These include:

Roll 'N Grow PLUS – Building on the success of the Roll 'N Grow membership, we are now offering an upgraded version that includes the USBC Youth jersey.

8 for 8 – This BPAA promotion gives each participant a USBC Youth Basic Membership. A center must purchase a kit from BPAA in order to participate in this program.

Scholastic – Previously known as the USBC High School Membership, this $5 Basic membership option can now be used for interscholastic competition in both high school and middle school.

These products, in addition to the membership choices already offered (Standard Youth, Youth Basic and Roll ‘N Grow) comprise our membership options for 2012-13. Add in our USA Bowling program, and there is an option available for every youth bowler!

Other changes made by the IBC Youth Development team include:
Additional instructional pop-up screens have been added to the Youth Processing System. The screen for a specific membership will pop up when you are creating the league and choose a league type.

The default shipment location has been changed to reflect the processor’s address. If an association wants the jerseys to be shipped to the center, they must remember to make that selection when inputting the memberships. We will monitor this as best we can but we won’t be able to catch all mistakes, so please be aware of the change.

In an effort to minimize the number of exchanges for wrong-sized jerseys, we worked with our vendor to develop a more uniformly accepted sizing standard. We are using the sizing specifications of Gildan, the largest producer of t-shirts in the world. Many kids will have a t-shirt made by Gildan and they should be able to size off of that.
