11InARowInsideNew 11-in-a-row trophy
For the 2012-13 season, USBC will be changing the 11-in-a-row trophy. The new trophy is laser-engraved inside crystal and clear in the back. The dimensions are 6" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/4" and will include a commemorative box. Any 11-in-a-row bowled starting August 1, 2012 will be eligible for the new award.

Summer supply orders
Associations now can start ordering supplies for the 2012-13 season and all orders placed online moving forward will contain supplies for next season.

Once an order is placed for the 2012-13 season, the association will receive an estimated ship date (when the order will ship from USBC Headquarters; not a shipment arrival date).

Should any associations need supplies for the 2011-12 season, they will need to call the Bowling Information Center at 1-800-514-2695.

For those associations that did not attend the 2012 USBC Convention, Executive Director Stu Upson announced we no longer will award magnets after this season and will have a new award available for special achievements. Associations with a surplus of magnets may be able to contact associations nearby and see if they have a need for any additional magnets.

New items in your 2012-13 Summer Supply Orders
For those associations who have placed their order for the 2012-13 season, you noticed there were two additional items in your order that previously have not been included. First is a “Thank You for Joining USBC” flyer and the second is a “Welcome 2 Bowling” flyer.

Thank You for Joining USBC
During the Legislative Update meetings earlier this year, association officials had recurring comments that our members do not know what their membership dollars are used for. After evaluating our member’s process in joining USBC, they are not told at the time they join USBC what they are joining. They are simply filling out a membership application.

For this reason, we created the “Thank You for Joining USBC” flyer. Each association is being sent roughly one flyer per league to provide to every league secretary. We strongly encourage associations and/or league secretaries to make their own copies through a local printer to provide a copy of the flyer to each team in the league the first night of league, so the member has the opportunity to see some of the benefits their membership supports. The digital version of the documents can be found by clicking here.

Welcome 2 Bowling
The other new item in your supply order is the “Welcome 2 Bowling” flyer. This flyer also is to be provided to every league secretary to inform them about the Welcome 2 Bowling program that provides incentive and value for first-year USBC members.

The W2B program was a new industry initiative last year to help our retention of first-year league bowlers, as statistics have shown there are about 300,000 new league bowlers each season and more than half do not return the second year. Having a better league bowling experience and getting better are two areas that we want to focus on with our first-year members, and you can help by spreading the awareness of the program to your league officers with this flyer.

If anyone has any questions on either of these new documents, feel free to contact Mike.Larsen@bowl.com.
