Legislative Update Webinars to be conducted next week

The USBC Board of Directors thank those who were able to attend the meetings last month and has taken into account the input received from the association leaders they were able to meet with. On Thursday, March 22, members of the Board will host two Legislative Update webinars for delegates and association leaders. The first one will take place at 4 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m., both times Eastern.

To register for either webinar, please send an email to Mike Larsen at Mike.Larsen@bowl.com and include in the subject of the email which webinar you would like to register for. Please remember that these are limited to the first 25 people that sign up. You will receive a confirmation email notifying you of your registration and on Wednesday, March 21, you will receive the login information for the webinar.

Bowl for the Cure success stories

It’s almost time for the annual Meet for the Cure at the upcoming USBC Convention in April! This year, we will feature several USBC Associations’ Bowl for the Cure success stories.

If your association held a Bowl for the Cure event this past season, please email a recap of your event, total funds raised and high resolution photos to Dania Lee at Dania.Lee@bowl.com.

The submissions will be selected at random, so we cannot guarantee that every association will be featured. Thank you for supporting Bowl for the Cure and joining us in the fight to end breast cancer forever. We look forward to seeing you at Meet for the Cure!

Collegiate events on national TV

It was recently announced the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships and the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships will be part of a four-week series that will air nationally this May on CBS Sports Network. Please help us spread the word that these national championship events will air each Friday in May on CBS Sports. For a preview video of these exciting events, please click here.

Bowlers Ed
The IBC Youth Development team hosted a Bowler’s Ed Summit March 6-7 at the International Bowling Campus with the purpose of discussing the current landscape of the in-school bowling program.

The group consisted of in-state specialists and physical education teachers from around the country that believe in the brand. They shared thoughts and ideas of initiatives that will grow the brand as well as avenues to continue to give students the opportunity to learn a lifetime sport, increasing the revenue of bowling centers over time by cultivating relationships with local schools.

Any association officials interested in learning more about the Bowlers Ed program should contact Corey Robinson at crobinson@ibcyouth.com or 817-385-8432.
