The Nominating Committee will then recommend a slate of candidates to delegates ahead of the USBC Convention, scheduled for April 25-28, 2012, in Arlington, Texas. Center certifications

USBC rules state that centers must renew their certification by September 1 to host any USBC certified competition, including all Standard and Sport leagues and tournaments for that season. Center inspections for the 2011-12 season began April 1. Local associations should initiate contact with each bowling center within their jurisdiction as soon as possible to set up inspections, regardless of the certification status of the center from the previous season. Associations will then need to complete a bowling center inspection as soon as possible to give centers time to make any necessary corrections, if needed. Upon completion, the certification applications should be submitted electronically through BOWL.com no later than August 31. All center certification applications, regardless of whether the center met specifications, should be submitted electronically. The online center certification application can be accessed by going to BOWL.com/associations, or by clicking here . Please note you will need your association number and supply order password to login.

League meetings for 2011-12

It is important for association representatives to attend the scheduled league meetings for the 2011-12 season. Many important decisions are made at these meetings, including whether or not leagues will certify with USBC. Members of the association board can make their presence known at these organizational meetings and try to provide clarification on any questions that the leagues may have. The courteous assistance of the local association and good customer service can go a long way to build relationships with the league, as well as the bowling center. Another added benefit to attending league organizational meetings is to promote your association tournaments and events, as well as national events like the USBC Open and Women's Championships. Please work with your proprietors to find out when these league meetings will be held, and try to have a representative at as many as possible.
