Deadline approaching for two prestigious scholarships
The deadline to apply for the USBC Annual Zeb Scholarship and the Gift of Life Scholarship is April 1.

The Annual Zeb Scholarship is named after Jim Zebehazy, the last executive director of the Young American Bowling Alliance, and is awarded to a USBC Youth member who achieves academic success and gives back to their community through service. Applicants must be a high school junior or senior and a USBC Youth member in good standing. The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship and an expenses-paid trip for themselves and a parent or guardian to attend the awards ceremony held in conjunction with the USBC Junior Gold Championships in July. Click here for an application.

The Gift for Life Scholarship is awarded annually to high school students who offer evidence of financial hardships. Up to 12 USBC Youth members will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship managed through USBC’s SMART program. In honor of the September 11th heroes, two of these awards, one to a male and one to a female, are reserved for a son and a daughter of fire, police or emergency rescue personnel. Association logos
With the influx of local and state associations creating Facebook pages, and doing a nice job of using it to promote events and recognize bowlers, it is important to remember that many of the associations are using their own unauthorized logos while using the USBC name. Under no circumstances should these unauthorized logos be used.

Associations should contact their Regional Manager to request authorized logos. You can find your Regional Manager on the Associations page of BOWL.com.

Memberships after March 15
Any individuals joining a league after March 15 shall pay the dues/local processing fee that are known to be, or become, effective for the next current season. On payment of the dues/processing fee, the individual shall become a member for the balance of the current season and the next season.

When upgrading or purchasing a local only membership, the purchase is only good for the current season. At this time, if a bowler wishes to purchase a Sport membership or a local only membership that is valid for this summer and the 2011-12 season, they will need to purchase a Standard membership with it, not just the upgrade.
