BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Aug. 19, 2011) – Tom Baker of King, N.C. defeated Walter Ray Williams Jr. of Ocala, Fla., 234-197, to win the Professional Bowlers Association Central Region’s PROGRESSIVE/Gerdeman Insurance Senior Classic at Al-Mar Lanes Friday.

The title was Baker’s first of the year in the PBA Central Region and the 22nd PBA Regional title of his career. He earned $3,500 along with his title.

Baker defeated Dave Patchen of Oregon, Ohio, 211-198, to advance to the championship match. In the first stepladder match, Baker edged amateur Steve Jakubowski of Temperance, Mich., 220-200. In the second match, Baker eliminated Bob Harvey of Boise, Idaho, 246-182.

Williams Jr. earned $2,000 for second place, Patchen won $1,600 for third, Harvey $1,250 for fourth and Jakubowski $1,000 for fifth place.
