Baker Wins PBA South Region Gloucester Open

Gloucester, Va. – Tom Baker of King, N.C., defeated Kyle Troup of Taylorsville, N.C., 279-248, to win the Professional Bowlers Association South Region Gloucester Open presented by Hammer at Village Lanes Sunday.

The win was Baker’s 25th career regional title, after finishing second in his last event.  Baker earned $2,200 for the win while Troup earned $1,200 as the runner-up.  

Baker defeated Dale Eagle of Frisco, Texas, 259-219, and Troup defeated Frank Gallo Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., 237-223, in the semifinal round.

Eagle and Gallo Jr. each earned $900 as semifinal round losers.

The PBA South Region’s next tournament will be George Pappas Liberty Lanes, Gastonia N.C. Sr. Open Nov. 11-13, 2011.
