GRAPEVINE, Texas – Member delegates elected four members to the Board of Directors and voted on three legislative proposals during the 2011 United States Bowling Congress Annual Meeting on Friday at the Gaylord Texan Convention Center.

Delegates re-elected Darlene Baker of Mahomet, Ill., and Marci Williams of Wichita, Kan., to the USBC Board of Directors. They will be joined by newcomers Jo Dimond of Columbus, Ohio, and Bill Vint of East Troy, Wis.

Baker, Williams and Dimond were elected on the first ballot. Needing a minimum of 490 votes on the first ballot, Baker received 795 votes while Williams had 667 and Dimond had 530. Vint was selected on the third ballot.

The USBC Board of Directors will meet Saturday, July 2, to determine officers for the 2011-12 year.

Also joining the board for 2011-12 will be Kelly Kulick of Union, N.J., who was chosen to be an athlete director. Kulick replaces Lynda Barnes of Double Oak, Texas, who decided to leave the board. Tony Manna Jr. also was selected by athlete representatives to continue on the board.

Cera Dailey of Sherwood, Ark., the Youth Female Ambassador of the Year, was selected to serve on the USBC Youth Committee.

The 971 voting delegates had three proposals to decide during the legislative session and two were rejected. A USBC National Bylaw proposal to require non-merged state and local associations to be merged by August 1, 2013 was rejected while an amendment to the board of directors elections procedures to change the requirement for credentials to be filed with USBC from 24 hours to 30 days was approved. The proposed League Rule amendment seeking to lower the age for senior leagues to 50 was rejected.

USBC once again generated significant financial support for charity. During presentations, USBC Bowl For The Cure made a donation of more than $950,000 to Susan G. Komen For The Cure. The Bowlers to Veterans Link contributions from USBC was nearly $750,000.
