Bowling.com extends title sponsorship of Youth Open

ARLINGTON, Texas – Bowling.com will continue as the title sponsor of the Youth Open Championships, while the event retools its lowest divisions in 2016.
The Bowling.com Youth Open Championships is a national non-qualifying tournament open to all United States Bowling Congress Youth members. The 2016 event will take place over nine days starting July 14 at Expo Bowl in Indianapolis.
“We’re excited to continue our involvement with the Youth Open Championships as title sponsor,” Bowling.com’s Head of Business Development, Ben Dodson, said about the two-year agreement. “It is important to have national events for youth bowlers, so they can compete against bowlers from across the county for scholarships and titles. It’s been great to have been a part of the event the last two years.”
The Nacogdoches, Texas-based company, which started in 1999, also is a founding partner of the Youth Education Services (YES) Fund and has been a strong proponent of giving back to the sport.
In addition to its title sponsorship, Bowling.com also will provide a $100 scholarship to participants who roll a 300 game or 800 series at the Bowling.com Youth Open Championships.
“We appreciate Bowling.com’s commitment to youth bowling and the Youth Open Championships,” said Gary Brown, International Bowling Campus Managing Director of Youth Development. “Having their continued support is important as we continue to build a future for the sport.”
For the 2016 event, the Bowling.com Youth Open Championships will have slight enhancements to its divisional structure. The Under 20, Under 15 and Under 12 divisions remain, but the Under 8 division has been replaced by an Under 10 division.
The adjustment in the lower division is expected to increase participation in the lower divisions by making it more competitive for younger bowlers. It also is expected to increase scholarships in the lower divisions and allow more flexibility in creating teams.
Registration for the 2016 Bowling.com Youth Open Championships, which will take place July 14-15, 22-25 and 29-31 in Indianapolis, will open Dec. 1.
