LAS VEGAS – Jonathan and Tim Heimann are brothers, teammates and now, the leaders in Regular Doubles at the 2024 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships after an incredible showing Saturday at the South Point Bowling Plaza.

Jonathan’s performance also came after a brief hiatus from bowling as he and his wife, Kassi, welcomed their son, Easton.

“We had a baby in March, and I kind of took some time off to stay at home with him,” Jonathan said. “I just started practicing about two weeks ago. I bowled the Bowlers Journal (Championships) three times to try to get back into it.”

Jonathan added sets of 636 in singles and 513 in team for a 1,959 all-events total at the 2024 event. Tim had 630 in singles and 618 in team for 1,953.

Their overall performance at the Bowling Plaza also pushed their team – Boxcars! from St. Louis – into second place in Team All-Events with a 9,456 total. John Burkett Team 1 of Fort Worth, Texas, leads at the 2024 USBC Open Championships with 9,465.

Jonathan and Tim were joined by Steven Jarvis (1,986), Scott Hill (1,872) and Brandon Magennis (1,686).

As their four-team group transitioned to singles competition at the Bowling Plaza on Saturday, Steve Rogers of Manteno, Illinois, continued the striking pace to take over the top spot in Regular Singles with a 760 series.

The group placed three bowlers in the top five of Regular All-Events, too. St. Louis’ Andrew Orf took over second place with 2,018, while Rogers and Jarvis moved into fourth and fifth, respectively.
