Butturff Wallops PBA Hall of Fame Classic Field in Early Going with 258 Average

Classic, the first tournament of the 2019 Go Bowling! PBA Tour season.

Butturff, who is trying for his fifth career PBA Tour title, rolled games of 244, 279, 266, 226, 269 and 267 to cruise to a 141-pin lead over E.J. Tackett of Bluffton, Ind., after half of the 70-player field had completed its first round. The second half of the field bowls its six-game round at 5 p.m. EST.

Squad B bowls its second six-game qualifying round Friday at 10 a.m.; Squad A will complete its qualifying at 5 p.m. The top 18 bowlers then will bowl a third six-game qualifying round Saturday at 10 a.m., after which the top five players will advance to Sunday’s 11 a.m. FS1 stepladder finals. All preliminary qualifying rounds are being live-streamed on FloBowling.com.
