Cieslewicz rolls 825 to lead singles at Bowlers Journal Championships

RENO, Nev. – Brad Cieslewicz of Iola, Wisconsin, rolled 32 strikes across his three-game set Tuesday evening at the 2026 Bowlers Journal Championships to take over the top spot in Open Singles with an 825 series.

The 32-year-old right-hander recorded games of 277, 300 and 248 at the National Bowling Stadium to surpass the 817 posted by Charlie Brown II of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

After starting with strikes on 23 of his first 24 deliveries – his only miss was in the fourth frame of Game 1 – Cieslewicz knew the number at the top of the leaderboard was within reach. His ball reaction changed early in Game 3, however, as he only rolled one strike in the first four frames and had a missed single pin in the second.

He made a ball change stepping up in the fifth with no room to spare, needing the next seven strikes for a chance at the lead. Cieslewicz didn’t miss again, closing the game with eight strikes.
