Collegiate Ticker - Dec. 10, 2025

The 2025-2026 United States Bowling Congress Collegiate regular season continued this past weekend with six events, including the Starrag Group Warhawk Open in Addison, Illinois.

Twenty-six men’s varsity teams and 19 women’s varsity teams competed for the title, each bowling five individual games and 16 Baker games before the top eight after qualifying advanced to the best-of-three Baker bracket.

The top two seeds in the men’s bracket, Wisconsin-Whitewater and Mount Mercy, made their way through to meet in the finals. The Warhawks took Game 1, 236-225, but the Mustangs came back in a big way in Game 2, 255-191. Mount Mercy closed out with 226 to Whitewater’s 183 for their first win of the season.

Trine’s Hayden Hale was second with 1,156, while Mount Mercy’s Zach Andresen was fourth with 1,133 and Saint Xavier’s Daniel Esguerra was fifth with 1,128.

The women’s bracket saw No. 5 Saint Xavier and No. 6 Marian-Wisconsin advance through their sides of the bracket to face off in the title match. Saint Xavier won the first game, 203-148, before Marian-Wisconsin evened things up with a 194-171 win in Game 2 to set up a deciding Game 3. Saint Xavier shot 167, its lowest game of the bracket, but it was still enough to top Marian-Wisconsin’s 155 for the win.
