A winter storm didn’t stop the United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season from rolling on with nine events this past weekend, including the third Great Lakes Bowling Conference (GLBC) event in Rockford, Illinois.
Twenty-one men’s varsity teams and 10 women’s varsity teams bowled five individual games and 16 Baker games, with total pinfall determining the winner.
The men’s field was dominated by Wisconsin-Whitewater after ending the individual portion of the tournament with 5,731, nearly 350 pins over second place. The great bowling continued into the Baker games for the Warhawks, including a 280 game on the way to an overall total of 9,300 and the win.
Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Dawson Peterson led all men with a five-game total of 1,233 and was joined in the top five by teammate Luke Winter, who had 1,164 and placed fifth. Rock Valley’s Andrew Bell placed second with 1,206, while Marian-Wisconsin’s Alex Glodowski (1,201) and Jaysen Spanbauer (1,170) ended up third and fourth, respectively.

The second day was more of the same as they pulled away to finish first with an overall total of 7,263, nearly 350 pins over second.
