Vanderbilt takes Holiday Classic title

BESSEMER, Ala. - Vanderbilt captured the 8th Annual Holiday Collegiate Classic for its second title of the season. The tournament for NCAA teams was held Feb. 25-27 at the Holiday Family Fun Center.

After leading qualifying, Vanderbilt rolled in bracket play, eventually beating Central Missouri, 4-1, in the title match. Sam Houston State beat Stephen F. Austin, 4-0, for third place.

Vanderbilt's Brittni Hamilton shot 1,105 (221 average for five games) to take individual honors. Addileen Pointer (1,081) of Alabama A&M was second with Central Missouri's Natalie Jimenez and Vanderbilt's Jessica Earnest (1,001 each) sharing third.

Fairleigh Dickinson bounces back for ECAC Invitational title

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. - Trailing three games to one in the best-of-seven championship match, Farleigh Dickinson won the next three games to beat Kutztown and capture the ECAC Invitational held Feb. 26-27 at Parkway Lanes.

In capturing its fourth title of the season, Farleigh Dickinson had a 6,352 pinfall total to lead qualifying with Kutztown finishing second and Delaware State in third.

Fairleigh Dickinson's Sara Litteral (1,326) and Joely Carrillo (1,319) were the top individual performers followed by St. Peter's Michele DeVries (1,314) and Kutztown's Kayla Stamm (1,294).
