The Robert Morris-Illinois women's team and McKendree men's team made their way through the bracket and into the winner's circle at the ISYL Leatherneck Classic this weekend. The women competed at Miller Time Bowling in Davenport, Iowa, while the men took to the lanes at Highland Park Bowl in Moline, Ill.

Coming in as the No. 3 seed, the Robert Morris-Illinois women defeated Grand View and St. Ambrose before besting Midland in the finals, 2-0 (180-173, 205-196).

On the men's side, McKendree, the top seed in the bracket, went to the deciding game in each of its matches, defeating Webber and Vincennes before claiming the title against Midland, 2-1 (241-233, 153-234, 213-180).

Webber's Diana Zavjalova ran away with the top individual honors on the women's side after averaging 241 for the weekend. The 2013 USBC Queens champion fired a six-game total of 1,446 to outdistance Samantha Kelly (1,313) of Robert Morris-Illinois.

Newman's Ashley Hare (1,293) finished third while Sabrena Divis (1,271) of Midland and Brittany Smith (1,252) of Grand View rounded out the top five.

For the men, McKendree's AJ Johnson paced the field by posting a six-game score of 1,409 (234.83 average). Midland teammates Perry Crowell and Neil Cooley grabbed second and third, respectively, with 1,381 and 1,372. Kyle Sherman (1,348) of Lindenwood took fourth and McKendree's Riley Smith (1,346) finished fifth.

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:

- At the Crusader Classic in Merrillville, Ind., Arkansas State defeated Nebraska, 4-1, in the finals to capture the title.

- At the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference II in Lafayette, La., the West Texas A&M men's team rolled to victory by more than 350 pins over the field, while the Spring Hill College women's team held on for the title over West Texas A&M.

- At the Roto Grip Raider Classic in Beavercreek, Ohio, Urbana came back to defeat Notre Dame College in the finals on the men's side, 438-406, while the Wright State women outlasted Pikeville for the title, 464-431.

- At the Penn State Classic in Bellefonte, Pa., William Patterson came away victorious by a narrow margin over Rochester Institute of Technology.

- At the MEAC South Conference Meet #1, North Carolina A&T State, Norfolk State University and Florida A&M tied at the top of the standings with five wins each.

- At the MEAC North Conference Meet #1, Maryland Eastern Shore went undefeated in Baker matches on its way to a 9-1 mark for the event.

- At the Northeast Conference Meet #1 in Reading, Pa., St. Francis went 6-2 overall to take the top spot over Fairleigh Dickinson.

- At the West Coast Collegiate Championship in Fresno, Calif., the Fresno State women swept both events, while the San Jose State and Fresno State men's teams won Event 1 and Event 2, respectively.
