November 05, 2025
It was another busy weekend as the 2025-2026 United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season rolled on with 10 events contested, including the Bowlero Southern Collegiate Classic in Marietta, Georgia, a Tier I event.
There were 23 men’s varsity teams and 14 women’s varsity teams vying for the Tier I title. Each team bowled five individual games and 16 Baker games before the top four in each division advanced to the Baker match-play finals, where matches became best-of-five games.
The men’s side saw Webber International taking on Belmont Abbey and Tennessee Wesleyan facing Pikeville during the semifinal round. Belmont Abbey took the first game against Webber before the Warriors closed out the match with three straight wins to advance while Tennessee Wesleyan won a close Game 5 over Pikeville.
In the finals, the match was tied after two games before Tennessee Wesleyan soundly won Game 3, 234-166, and clinched the title in Game 4 over Webber, 212-191.
Webber’s Michael Weyl led all men during the individual portion of the tournament, shooting a five-game total of 1,160 while William Paterson’s Ethan Bromley was just behind at 1,158. William Paterson’s Ben Darrow, Midway’s Charlie Smith and Belmont Abbey’s Connor Breaman all tied for third with 1,130.
Over on the women’s side, Pikeville advanced to take on Alabama-Birmingham while Milligan faced Savannah College of Art and Design-Savannah to determine who would bowl for the title.
