Wichita State men, McKendree women win Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic

ADDISON, Ill. -
Wichita State topped a men's field of 36 schools, while the McKendree women finished ahead of 19 schools to earn titles at the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic at Stardust Bowl.

The Shockers won the match-play bracket by defeating Robert Morris-Illinois, 475-395, in the two-game match. Wichita State also took top qualifier honors with a 7,883 total, topping second-place Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) by 42 pins. Saginaw Valley State finished third in qualifying.

RIT's Tyler Harman took top individual honors with a six-game total of 1,311 (218.5 average). Harman was followed by Wichita State's Marcus Berndt (1,277) and Saginaw Valley State's Ryan Melching (1,257).

In the women's championship match, the McKendree A team defeated their teammates McKendree B, 414-363. Wichita State led the qualifying portion of the event with 7,597, topping McKendree by just nine pins. Robert Morris-Illinois took third.

McKendree's Brandi Branka was the high individual finisher with 1,239 for six games, topping Wichita State's Jessica Baker by 22 pins. Wright State's Heidi Sanders was third with 1,187.

Penn State wins Green and Gold Invitational

MANASSAS, Va. -
Penn State University came out on top against a field of 11 other schools in the George Mason Green and Gold Invitational at Bowl America Bull Run.

Penn State finished with a 9,056 total, which was 545 pins ahead of second-place finishers Penn State Berks. Millersville took third, while Virginia Tech was fourth.

Keith Gayman (1,214) and Andrew Christ (1,202) helped lead Penn State to the title by finishing first and second in the individual standings. Brian Servedio of Stevens Institute of Technology was third with 1,187.

Racer Classic titles go to Wright state men, Northwestern Ohio women

LIMA, Ohio -
The Wright State men and Northwestern Ohio women earned titles in the Racer Classic at Westgate Lanes.

Wright State overcame a first-game loss in the best-of-three championship match to down Northwestern Ohio's men's team, 2-1. After losing 191-189, Wright State took the next two games 200-144 and 190-181.

Wright State led qualifying with 8,743, while Pikeville was second at 8,693. Kent State's Kevin Gates was the high individual with a six-game total of 1,258.

In the women's division, Northwestern Ohio swept Wright State, 2-0, in the title match with wins of 176-117 and 200-148. Led by Kandris Garland's 1,163 individual total, Northwestern Ohio also led qualifying with 8,501.

Webber women, FIU men win in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -
In a battle of all Florida schools, the Webber International women and Florida International men won the Florida Gator Baker Shootout at Alley Gatorz.

The Warriors women's team dispatched Florida State in the best-of-three championship match, 2-1. Webber International won the first game 176-169, dropped the second 176-153 but won the decider 257-155. Webber finished on top in qualifying with 8,086, topping Florida State by 278 pins.

Florida International defeated top qualifier Webber International, 2-1, in the men's championship. FIU dropped the opener 202-168 but rebounded to take the next two games, 225-186 and 180-145. Webber led qualifying with 8,395, while Central Florida was second with 8,023.

Kutztown wins Fall Baker Invitational

READING, Pa. -
Host school Kutztown finished with a 9,315 total to claim the top spot at the KU Fall Baker Invitational, which was held at Bowl O Rama.

Adelphi took second with 8,821 in the tournament, which featured NCAA schools. St. Peter's finished third, while St. Francis-Pa. was fourth.

Kutztown's Brooke Bower took individual honors with a five game total of 1,047, while teammate Kayla Jones was second with 1,022. Danielle Merino of Adelphi was third with 1,018.
