Competitive senior event schedule grows
December 13, 2012
ARLINGTON, Texas - The International Bowling Campus is creating a new event aimed at giving senior bowlers age 60 and older even more competitive opportunities.
The ITRC Super Senior Classic will take place Oct. 30-Nov. 1, immediately following the 2013 USBC Senior Queens, at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas, the home of Team USA.
"There is a growing base of Super Senior bowlers that have been asking for competitive events, and we are pleased to provide this new opportunity," USBC Managing Director of Membership and Events Pete Tredwell said. "The ITRC was a tremendous host to the Senior Queens this year, so it's the perfect venue for this new tournament."
In order to be eligible for the ITRC Super Senior Classic, entrants must be at least 60 years of age by Oct. 30, 2013, and they must have competed in either the 2013 USBC Senior Masters or Senior Queens.
The event will feature two days of qualifying followed by a third day with a cashers round and stepladder finals. All three days will be broadcast live on BowlTV. The field will be limited to the first 56 entries and is expected to sell out.
In addition to this new competitive opportunity, bowlers will be offered the chance to participate in exclusive clinics with the Team USA coaching staff, available only to those entering the event.

SENIOR MASTERS REGISTRATION OPEN
Early registration for the 2013 USBC Senior Masters is now available at BOWL.com/SeniorMasters. The event will take place June 9-14 at the South Point Bowling Center in Las Vegas.
Competitors can enter for a discounted entry fee of $400 prior to April 1. The entry fee will increase to $450 after April 1 and to $500 for on-site entries.
For the first time, the Senior Masters will feature a five-player stepladder final in 2013. The entire event will be broadcast live on BowlTV.
SENIOR QUEENS RETURNING TO ITRC
The USBC Senior Queens will return to the International Training and Research Center in 2013 after the event was successfully conducted at the ITRC in October. The 2013 event will take place Oct. 24-29.
Bowlers will enjoy many of the same great features next year with some new additions, including a free classroom clinic and a free 2014 win-a-spot sweeper for those who don't qualify for match play.
The ITRC once again will conduct an optional on-lane clinic Oct. 29 for participants who are interested in getting tips from Team USA coaches.
