Developer Hopes to Keep Bowling in Kerrville

The lone bowling center in Kerrville, Texas, is scheduled to close on May 31, ending a run that began in 1959.

While the center is closing, it may not be the end of bowling in Kerrville.

“We have been and are continuing to explore many options to relocate bowling to another location in the city,” developer Pete Moore told the Hill Country Community Journal. “We have explored options including several family/kid-themed restaurant concepts that we think would go well with bowling, allowing it to remain in Kerrville and be a profitable venture.”

A closing ceremony reportedly is planned for May 30.

The city is best known for hosting the Kerrville Folk Festival, an 18-day series of concerts beginning the Thursday before Memorial Day.
