All-time bowling great Don Carter — a star during the Great Team Era as a member of the fabled Budweisers, then during the early days of the Professional Bowlers Assn. — has died.

Carter recently returned home after a lengthy stay in a Miami hospital, where he was fighting a case of pneumonia.
