Dream-Bowl Palace to Continue Hosting Brunswick Euro Challenge

Brunswick Bowling officials announced this month that the Dream-Bowl Palace will continue to host the annual Brunswick Euro Challenge tournament through 2018.

Since its start in 2004, the BEC has established itself as one of the largest bowling events in Europe, attracting a mix of promising amateur players and PBA stars from Europe, Asia and the United States. The tournament has been held at the state-of-the-art, 52-lane facility in Unterfoehring, Germany, for the past four years.

“We built our bowling center to accommodate European and world championship events, and we’ve been very happy hosting the Brunswick European Challenge,” said Martin Knoebl, center manager of Dream-Bowl Palace. “We ‘live’ bowling and are committed to growing the sport of bowling in Germany. We’re proud to have the world’s best bowlers come to the Dream-Bowl Palace and Unterfoehring for this great tournament, and we appreciate Brunswick’s help with lane maintenance, score keeping and organization.”

Noted Gary Smith, Brunswick Bowling vice president of international sales: “Dream-Bowl Palace is one of the best venues in all of Europe, and the Knoebl family has done a terrific job with the Brunswick Euro Challenge. We’re pleased to have them signed on to continue hosting the tournament.”

The Dream-Bowl Palace features entertainment, dining and event space spanning more than 86,000 square feet over three floors. All bowling lanes are located on the first floor, and feature Brunswick equipment including Vector Plus scoring and management system, GS-X pinsetters, Frameworx and Striking Line furniture, and Pro Lane synthetic lanes.

“The Brunswick Euro Challenge is one of the European Bowling Tour’s ‘platinum’ events, and is key to the World Bowling organization’s mission of expanding the sport around the world,” said Kevin Dornberger, World Bowling president. “The Dream-Bowl Palace and Munich are the ideal location for this event.”

The 2015 BEC was the 10th stop of this year’s World Bowling Tour. For more information about the BEC, visit www.brunswickeurochallenge.com.
