RENO, Nev. - Four men's and four women's teams remain undefeated at the 2014 XBowling Intercollegiate Team Championships after two rounds of double-elimination match play Wednesday.

Defending champion Robert Morris-Illinois, Urbana, San Jose State and Lindenwood left the Reno-Sparks Convention Center unscathed on the men's side, while Pikeville, Grand View, Robert Morris-Illinois and Sacred Heart went unbeaten on the women's side.

A total of 32 teams began their journey to hoist the Kerm Helmer Cup on Wednesday, and four teams on each side have been eliminated from the competition. The 12 remaining men's and 12 remaining women's teams will return to the RSCC on Thursday morning to continue match play until two teams on each side are left to compete for the national championship.

The championship match for the women and men will be taped Friday and will air on CBS Sports Network on May 20 and May 27 at 8 p.m. Eastern, respectively.

All 32 teams took part in 24 games of Baker qualifying Wednesday morning to determine seeding for the best-of-seven match play bracket.

The Robert Morris-Illinois men's team qualified ninth overall, but swept Marian, 4-0, and defeated Fresno State, 4-1, to remain undefeated. Fresno State knocked off the top qualifier, Wichita State, in the opening round, 4-0.

The Pikeville women's squad defeated defending champion Maryland Eastern Shore in the first round, 4-2, and then knocked off top-seeded Wichita State, 4-2.

Competition will resume Thursday morning at 8 a.m. Pacific with live coverage of match play being featured on BowlTV.
