ARLINGTON, Texas – The United States Bowling Congress Nominating Committee has slated four candidates for election to the USBC Board of Directors, and delegates also will vote on one legislative proposal at the 2024 USBC Convention and Annual Meeting.

The 2024 USBC Convention will take place April 22-25 at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with the Annual Meeting legislative sessions taking place on the final day.

Delegates will vote to fill three open positions on the USBC Board of Directors. Incumbents Dennis Hacker and Chrissy Lee are among the four slated.

Hacker currently serves as USBC Vice President. The USBC Board of Directors conducted officer elections in January and Hacker was elected USBC President by acclamation effective August 1, 2024, pending his reelection. Mike Cannington was elected to serve as USBC Vice President effective August 1.

The USBC Nominating Committee, which may slate up to two candidates for each opening, set a slate of four candidates:

• Tyler Chatham, Hartford, Connecticut
• Dennis Hacker, Longtown, Missouri
• Chrissy Lee, Tampa, Florida
• Matthew Voltz, Fargo, North Dakota

Chatham holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from Western New England University and is an actively licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He works today as the Financial Controller for Savage Arms and previously worked at KPMG as an Audit Manager on a variety of manufacturing and not-for-profit clients. He serves on other not-for-profit boards including the Board of Directors for the Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce and the Alumni Accounting Advisory Board at his alma matter. His accomplishments as a bowler include MAUSBCYA Bowler of the Year and multiple 300 games and 800 series.

Hacker is in his sixth year of service on the USBC Board along with his second year as vice president. He has been the Association Manager of the Missouri State USBC since 2019 after serving as a director since 2007. He also is a director on the Cape Girardeau USBC board. Hacker is a USBC Silver coach and led his Jackson High School bowling team to a state championship in 2022. On the lanes, he won the Bowlers Journal singles title in 1986, the New York State Amateur in 2000 and was first alternate for Team USA in 1988. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1981-1993 where he worked as a nuclear electrician on submarines. Bowling for the Navy, he was the All-Navy champion three times over his 12-year career. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and worked as Director of Research for Pinnacle Research Group, an independent full-service market research firm, for 22 years before retiring in 2022. He is a member of the Missouri State and Cape Girardeau USBC Halls of Fame.

Lee began her first term on the board during the 2021-2022 season and, during that term, served on the Strategic Planning, Legal and Legislative Committees. She has served on both her state and local boards for nearly 20 years, serving as vice president and president of the Monmouth County USBC. Prior to the merger, she served on both the Monmouth County USBC BA and WBA boards. She also served on both the New Jersey State USBC WBA and the New Jersey State USBC Boards of Directors. She has served as chairperson on many committees within the various associations. She recently was elected to serve as a director for the Greater Tampa USBC. She has served as a delegate to the USBC Annual Convention 12 times and has been a delegate to state conventions on 22 occasions. She’s worked as a preschool teacher for more than 25 years. On the lanes, she became the first woman to shoot 300 in the New Jersey State Travel League as well as the first woman to win the McManus Trophy. Presently, she participates in two leagues and bowls various tournaments in Florida. She was inducted into the Monmouth County USBC Hall of Fame in 2020.

Voltz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Studies, Business Management from Granite State College and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Plymouth State University. He has extensive professional experience in finance and leadership positions and is currently the Finance Director for the city of Horace, North Dakota. Prior to that, he spent more than four years at Town and Country Credit Union in Fargo, North Dakota, where he worked his way up the ranks from Assistant Vice President – Contact Center to Assistant Vice President – Member Services to Vice President – Member Services. Voltz has volunteered his time helping coach local youth bowling leagues and has served as a director for the Fargo/Moorhead USBC from 2022 to present and as its association manager from 2023 to present.

There is one proposed amendment to be voted upon by delegates at the USBC Annual Meeting. It is a bylaws proposal from the field to make the payment of USBC state association dues optional. The bylaws proposal requires a two-thirds majority vote for adoption.

The 2025 USBC Convention will once again take place at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, May 5-8.
