NBSWalkoutLARGEARLINGTON, Texas - The 2013 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships has been extended by three days to allow more teams the opportunity to compete in the historic 110th tournament.

Team squads have been added on July 5 and 6 for bowlers interested in spending the holiday weekend on the lanes. There will be one team squad each day, each with room for 36 teams. The final day of doubles and singles competition will be July 7.

The 2013 USBC Open Championships will kick off March 1 and continue for 122 consecutive days until June 30 before making way for the USBC Senior Championships, which will take place July 1-3. The venue will be dark July 4 and reopen July 5 for the final stretch of competition.

There still are plenty of spots available for the 2013 tournament, and team captains will have until March 1 to sign up their teams.

The USBC Women's Championships also will be held in Reno in 2013, so families and friends can travel and compete together. The Women's Championships will be held on 44 specially-constructed lanes inside the Reno-Sparks Convention Center from April 12- July 1.

And while making plans to head to Reno for Open Championships, don't forget to leave extra time for a practice session on the 900 Global Showcase Lanes or a shift at the Storm Bowlers Journal Championships presented by USBC, 900 Global Two-Game Challenge or Who's Got the Look Baker Bonanza presented by 900 Global, all being held inside the one-of-a-kind National Bowling Stadium.
