Hollingsworth returns after singles win at USBC Open Championships
June 26, 2025

BATON ROUGE, La. – Jason Hollingsworth of Oregon City, Oregon, recorded the victory in Regular Singles on the final day of the 2024 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships in Las Vegas, posting 825 at the buzzer to earn his first Eagle.
The talented right-hander rolled games of 289, 257 and 279 at the South Point Bowling Plaza, finishing with the final four strikes to surpass the 815 series posted by Brad Miller of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
After being stormed by his Milwaukie Bowl teammates – including USBC and Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer Dave Husted – Hollingsworth only had to wait for one more doubles and singles squad to conclude to confirm his spot at the top of the standings for the 2024 event.
Shortly after winning the title, Hollingsworth was surprised to find out a photo shoot for an article in Bowlers Journal International would turn into the cover for the September issue of the magazine, highlighting his performance in Las Vegas.
The 38-year-old returned to the USBC Open Championships this week at the Raising Cane’s River Center, well ahead of the tournament’s final day on July 28. Although he didn’t make a run at the lead during his time in Baton Rouge, he’s walking away from his fourth tournament appearance with an appreciation of the spot he has secured in the event’s long and storied history.
Hollingsworth was presented with his championship watch prior to his team event, and he returned for singles the following day with scores of 183, 226 and 199 for a 608 series during his title defense.
Two-time Eagle winner Marc McDowell of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, leads Regular Singles at the 2025 event with a 795 series.
