Home of 2010 USBC Women's Championships among safest cities

El Paso, Texas, home of the 2010 United States Bowling Congress Women's Championships, has once again found itself ranked among the safest cities in the United States.

The latest safety release by CQ Press, a research company known as a national source of impartial state and city ranking information, shows El Paso as the second safest U.S. city with a population of 500,000 or more. This has been an on-going trend for El Paso, which has found itself ranked either second or third in the annual report every year since 2004.

"El Paso has been chosen one of America's safest cities for the sixth consecutive year," said Bill Blaziek, General Manager of the El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau, "which means visitors to El Paso can expect to enjoy attractions, shopping, dining and culture in a safe and friendly environment."

El Paso, which also will play host to the USBC Queens and Senior Queens, Intercollegiate Team Championships and Bowling's Clash of Champions, is awaiting the arrival of more than 35,000 women bowlers expected to make the trip to compete at the 2010 event.

The 2010 USBC Women's Championships will be held at the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center, which begins on March 27 and runs through June 30. Tournament entries are being accepted through Jan. 22.
