Honor scores rolled at 2025 USBC Open Championships

BATON ROUGE, La. – A strike-filled Saturday at the 2025 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships featured plenty of excitement, including a perfect game from Julian Brown and 813 series by Jeremy Adler.
Both performances took place during doubles competition at the Raising Cane’s River Center.
Brown, of Jonesboro, Georgia, started doubles with 203 before connecting with 12 strikes in Game 2. The southpaw closed his set with 222 for a 725 series.
He paired with Zackery Carter of Des Plaines, Illinois, during the set, and they were able to move just outside of the top 10 in Regular Doubles with 1,385. Carter added games of 168, 235 and 257 for 660.
Brown and Carter had taken the lead in Regular Doubles at the 2023 USBC Open Championships in Reno, Nevada, and finished the year in third place with a 1,401 total.

Carter finished his 15th tournament appearance with his top overall performance at the Open Championships – 2,032. He added 694 in singles and 613 in team.

Jeremy Adler
Adler, of Columbus, Indiana, started his run in doubles with 258, which included strikes on his final five deliveries. He ran the string up to 16 in a row after starting Game 2 with 11 strikes, before leaving the 3-6 on his final shot for 298.
The right-hander posted another six strikes to start Game 3, before a 9 pin crept in during the seventh frame. Adler covered the spare and delivered two more strikes in the eighth and ninth, and a nine count on his first shot of the 10th officially secured the 800 series. He converted the spare and added nine on his fill ball to close the set with 257.
Adler teamed with Chris Jones of Edinburgh, Indiana, at the River Center, and the pair now sits in fourth place in Regular Doubles with 1,432. Jones, the owner of a 300 game in doubles at the 2009 Open Championships, had games 184, 216 and 219 for a 619 series.

Adler also recorded his top all-events score at the Open Championships, posting 2,026 in his 19th appearance. He had sets of 631 in team and 582 in singles.
The Open Championships is celebrating its third trip to Baton Rouge in 2025 and scheduled to feature more than 58,000 bowlers and 11,600 five-player teams competing across 150 consecutive days at the River Center.
