Illinois bowler rolls perfect game at 2026 Open Championships

RENO, Nev. – Cass Hermacinski of Eureka, Illinois, connected for a 300 game to start his singles set Saturday at the 2026 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships on the way to a 723 series.

The 34-year-old right-hander started to find his momentum during doubles at the National Bowling Stadium, and it carried over for a perfect performance in singles. He added games of 237 and 186 to close his set.

In doubles, Hermacinski posted 175 in the first game but started to see the lanes developing the right way as they broke down. He finished with 222 and 202 for a 599 series.

The moment was amplified for Hermacinski by getting to share it with his wife, Kathleen. Their appearance in 2026 marked the first time they have bowled together at the USBC Open Championships.
