Industry Vet Creamer to Lead QubicaAMF's Focus on Sport Bowling Worldwide

QubicaAMF Worldwide has announced that Roger Creamer has been appointed Director of International Relations and Sport Development.

Creamer will lead the company’s initiative to promote the sport of bowling worldwide, working with the industry and bowling federations. QubicaAMF is committed to the sport of bowling and sees the future of the sport gaining worldwide acclaim, with a goal of inclusion in the Olympic Games. With more than 100,000 million people in more than 100 countries bowling at least once a year, and an estimated 5 million registered players, bowling is truly a global and popular sport.

“Over the years, QubicaAMF’s commitment to the sport of bowling has been unwavering — from sponsoring the PBA Regional Tour and tournaments across the world, to hosting the Bowling World Cup for over fifty consecutive years, to working with the industry and federations at all levels,” said Juan Cabezas, President and Chief Growth Officer of QubicaAMF. “Today’s announcement continues that commitment; a dedicated focus on the success and the growth of the Sport is vital and a win-win for everyone. Roger, with his love of the game, is perfectly suited for this role.”

Creamer’s career in the bowling industry began in 1964 when he joined a United Kingdom chain as a trainee manager, and in 1969 became the Group Catering Controller for the AMF Bowling Center Operation.  In 1986, Creamer moved from the BCO to head up the U.K. Bowling Products business, signing the first all-new bowling center package in 10 years. After that, business kept growing, increasing from just 50 centers to more than 200 by 1990.

“QubicaAMF has long been a supporter of sport bowling, and I am delighted that the company has given me the opportunity to head up our efforts,” said Creamer. “Sport bowling is something that has been dear to my heart for 50 years, and I value the opportunity to do whatever I can to promote the game.”

Twenty years ago, Creamer developed the AMF Bowling Center Management School. Initially held in the U.K. and only for new entrants into the bowling business, it has since been conducted around the world, and is designed to help new and existing bowling operators run their businesses more successfully.

Creamer is an accomplished bowler (left-hander) with several 300 games to his credit. Also a former Great Britain Captain and National Youth Team Coach, he spent a month in Moscow in 1998 teaching Russian children how to play before selecting six to represent Russia in the inaugural World Youth Games that were staged in Moscow.

QubicaAMF is the proud sponsor of the PBA Regional Tour, which includes 150 tournaments conducted in the PBA’s seven domestic regions (East, South, Central, Midwest, Southwest, West and Northwest) aimed to enhance the professional and competitive experience for high-caliber bowlers.

The company also is the organizer of the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, the largest annual sporting event in terms of the number of participating countries — more than even the Winter Olympics. This annual event promotes bowling on a global level. The company celebrated the historical 50th anniversary of the tournament in 2014, and will host the 52nd Bowling World Cup at Hoa’s Bowling Center in Shanghai, China this Oct. 14-22.
