Jenkins connects for 300 game at 2026 Open Championships

RENO, Nev. – It’s been a striking start to June for Kevin Jenkins of Anthem, Arizona.

The 50-year-old left-hander started the month with an impressive showing at the United States Bowling Congress Senior Masters in Las Vegas, making his run through the bracket on the way to a fifth-place finish at the major championship.

On Sunday, he kept the momentum going at the 2026 USBC Open Championships by rolling a perfect game during his doubles set.

Jenkins recorded games of 256, 300 and 201 during doubles for a 757 series at the National Bowling Stadium, and he paired with Stephen Bernsdorf of Charlotte, North Carolina, to finish with a combined tally of 1,374.

He added 700 in singles and 570 in team to close his 13th appearance at the Open Championships with 2,027 for all-events.

The excitement in June for Jenkins started during the final round of qualifying at the Senior Masters. He closed his final block with games of 259 and 247 to earn the final spot in the 64-player double-elimination bracket by a single pin.

After defeating the top seed – Michael Machuga – during the first round, he was knocked to the elimination bracket by Professional Bowlers Association and USBC Hall of Famer Jason Couch.

From there, Jenkins won his next six head-to-head matches to advance to the final round of the elimination bracket. Another strong performance in the four-for-three match allowed Jenkins to secure the No. 4 seed for the stepladder finals.

In the opening game of the stepladder, Jenkins lost to USBC and PBA Hall of Famer Amleto Monacelli, 268-223, to finish the week in fifth place. Chris Warren won the 2026 event to claim his second victory at the Senior Masters.
