Joe Spain Jr. selected to USBC Board as at-large director

ARLINGTON, Texas – Joe Spain Jr. of Alpharetta, Georgia, has been selected to the United States Bowling Congress Board of Directors as an at-large director for the 2018-2019 season.

JoeSpain145x175Spain, who currently serves on the USBC Audit committee, was a unanimous selection of the board during its conference call in late August. The at-large director position, which was not filled last season, is a one-year appointment.

“I appreciate the opportunity to serve on the USBC Board,” Spain said. “I have worked with the board as a member of the audit committee and look forward to taking on an expanded role over the next year.”

Spain has served as the association manager for the Greater Atlanta USBC, where he has served for more than 20 years, and for the Georgia State USBC. For more than a decade, he served as a managing partner in a certified public accounting firm, which recently combined with a large Atlanta-based firm.

He promotes and has served as the tournament director for local and state tournaments for more than a decade and encourages support and participation in Bowlers To Veterans Link (BVL) and Bowl for the Cure® events.

Spain was the 2015 recipient of the USBC Helen Baker Award for Outstanding Association Service. He is a member of the Greater Atlanta USBC, Georgia State USBC, Georgia State Youth USBC, and Southeast Bowling Association Halls of Fame.
