Johnson, Beasley pick up PWBA regional victories

Reigning Professional Women's Bowling Association Rookie of the Year Stefanie Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Ingellimar Contreras Beasley of Venezuela won PWBA regional titles over the weekend.
Johnson totaled 1,758 for eight games to pick up the victory in the Southwest Region at the PWBA/PBA Tomball Southwest Open. Venezuela's Karen Marcano finished second with 1,711, while Colombia's Clara Guerrero was third with 1,705.
In the Midwest Region, Beasley picked up her second regional title of the season, winning the PWBA Liberty Lanes Midwest Open.
Beasley finished with a 12-game total of 2,754, including a 4-0 record in match play. Samantha Kelly of Waukesha, Wisconsin, took second with 2,499, while Jodi Gawlik of Schaumburg, Illinois, was third with 2,459.
The final PWBA regional event of the 2015 season will take place Oct. 2-4 when the PWBA Maple City Bowl East Open is held in Hornell, New York.
