LaCaze, Parks take home regional titles

Anthony LaCaze of Melrose Park, Ill. defeated Jimmy Cook of Indianapolis by 114 pins to win the Professional Bowlers Association Central/Midwest Region’s 26th Annual Bud Light/Ft. Wayne Open at Georgetown Bowl Sunday.

In the Central/Midwest Region BowlingGift.com Senior Open held concurrently with the Bud Light event, Kenny Parks of Hammond, Ind. defeated Harry Sullins of Chesterfield Twp., Mich., by 169 pins to win the senior portion of the tournament for his fourth Senior Regional title of the year.

LaCaze finished with an 9-3 match play record and a total of 4,480 pins for 20 games, including match play bonus pins. The title was the first of LaCaze’s career in PBA Regional competition and earned him a $2,500 first prize. The 2009-10 PBA Rookie of the Year also owns one PBA Tour title, won in the 2009 Earl Anthony Memorial.

Parks finished with an 9-3 match play record and a total of 4,439 pins for 20 games, including match play bonus pins. Parks’ eighth career Senior Regional title earned him $1,500.
