12 -14, Metrodome, Barnsley

WeberCupEuropeSumMATCHROOM SPORT is delighted to announce that the 13th annual Weber Cup will take place Oct. 12 - 14 as two four-man teams representing the USA and Europe do battle.

For the eighth consecutive year, all the action will take place at the Barnsley Metrodome within the specially-constructed arena beloved by UK bowling fans.

Defending champions are Team America, who last year defeated Europe 17-15 to give them an overall 7-5 lead in the 12 year-old event.

The Weber Cup is the tenpin bowling version of golf’s Ryder Cup, as two four-man teams from Europe and the USA compete over three days in a series of singles, doubles and baker format matches.

The Metrodome in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has successfully hosted this competition since 2005 and has established itself as a hugely successful venue for televised bowling.

The Weber Cup will be staged over five sessions – Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon and evening. Tickets will be available from Matchroom Sport in August.

The tournament will be produced by Matchroom Sport television and subsequently broadcast on Sky Sports as 18 x one hour programs as well as by various stations around the world.
