On the Lanes with Joe Crocco

In the coming months, we'll talk with some of the best-known bowlers at the USBC Open Championships and get their thoughts on their time at the tournament and what it takes to succeed on the championship lanes.

This week, we heard from Joe Crocco, who helped Central Saw and Mower of Racine, Wis., into the lead in Regular Team and Team All-Events at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., on Thursday and Friday.

The Stadium is a special place for Crocco, who teamed up with Racine's Mike Vasey to claim the 2004 Regular Doubles title with a 1,477 total.

Crocco, a 43-year-old right-hander, has maintained a 200.6 career average at the Open Championships with a high all-events total of 2,054 at the 1993 event in Tulsa, Okla.
