On the Lanes with Ronnie Horton

In the coming months, we'll talk with some of the best-known bowlers at the USBC Open Championships and get their thoughts on their time at the tournament and what it takes to succeed on the championship lanes.

This week, we heard from four-time Professional Bowlers Association regional champion Ronnie Horton, who still is searching for his first win at the Open Championships. He is a familiar face in the PBA Southern Region and has developed a following known as Horton Nation.

In 17 previous tournament appearances, Horton has been consistent, but he has proven to be a team player for sure. His average in team is 207.9, followed by 205.5 in singles and 205.2 in doubles for an overall average of 206.2. His best all-events total is 2,029, rolled at the 1999 event in Syracuse, N.Y.

This year, Horton shot 666 in doubles, 641 in team and 616 in singles for a 1,923 all-events total.
