One Colorado Center Is Moving Into Another

Can the spirit of a long-established, successful bowling center be re-created within the four walls of a struggling center?
That question will be addressed later this year when 63-year-old Elitch Lanes in Denver, moves into Western Bowl in Arvada, Colo.
Elitch Lanes owner Cal Eichinger told the Denver Post that the building which houses Elitch Lanes has been sold and he is bring forced to vacate by mid-May, making way for a Natural Grocers store.
So, Eichinger and one of his managers will move some of Elitch Lanes’s property — including house balls, rental shoes, bar stools and “Big Lebowski” paintings — to Western Bowl and assume day-to-day operation of that center.
And while it’s expected that much of the Elitch Lanes customer base will follow, Eichinger will not be an owner at Western.
“That's about the best we can do,” Eichinger told the Post. “The dirt around here , it's so expensive.”
