Palermaa Crowned as July Bowler of the Month

Osku Palermaa of Finland has been selected as the July 2015 Kegel Bowler of the Month by the International Bowling Media Association.
Palermaa defeated Isao Yamamoto of Japan, 248-224, for the Bowling World Open men's division title.
The second-seeded Palermaa started the bracketed semifinals with a win over third-seeded Bill O'Neill of Langhorne, Penn., 266-255. Yamamoto downed top-seeded Dom Barrett of England, 256-224, in the second semifinal, setting up the title match.
After qualifying in ninth place with a 225 average, Palermaa averaged 241 in the semifinals to claim the second seed for the arena television finals.
The win moved the Finnish native from sixth to fourth on the World Bowling Tour Men's point ranking list.
This is Palermaa's third IBMA Bowler of the Month award, and his first since August 2014.
Others obtaining votes this month were Dom Barrett, winner of the World Bowling Tour/European Bowling Tour 11th Storm San Marino Open; Joey Yeo, winner of the Bowling World Open women's division; Elysia Current, winner of the PWBA Sacramento Storm Open; and Stefanie Johnson, winner of the PWBA Wichita Open.
