WICHITA, Kan.
- Marie Neugebauer of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, has had a lot of fun throughout her United States Bowling Congress Women's Championships career, and she celebrated this week at Northrock Lanes as she made her 50th tournament appearance.

The 83-year-old right-hander developed her fondness for the tournament after her debut at the 1959 event in Buffalo, New York. From that first appearance, she would go on to visit 33 additional cities across 23 states.

"I have special memories from each city," Neugebauer said. "And the tournament helped me visit each of those 23 states."

To commemorate her milestone appearance, she was presented with a plaque, chevron and necklace at the 100th edition of the USBC Women's Championships.

"It was just a wonderful, fun experience," said Neugebauer, a member of the Wilmington USBC WBA Hall of Fame.

Staying in touch with her teammates over the years has been important to Neugebauer, especially since they now live all across the United States.

"I've had a lot of fond memories with my bowling family," Neugebauer said. "And the tournament has made that happen."

For her 50th appearance, Neugebauer rolled sets of 418 in singles, 407 in doubles and 376 in team for an all-events total of 1,201.
