Pennsylvania Proprietor Glenn Montgomery Passes Away

Glenn Montgomery was an avid sports participant and fan — his interests included tennis, golf, softball and baseball — but he devoted much of his life to yet another sport: bowling.

Montgomery, with wife Darlene, was the long-time proprietor of 222 Dutch Lanes in Ephrata, Pa., and in 1980 was elected to the Lancaster County Bowling Hall of Fame for bowling excellence. (See the Lancaster men’s Hall of Fame roster here: http://www.lancasterbowling.org.)

He passed away on Jan. 19 at the Maple Farms Nursing Center in Akron, Pa. He was 73.

In addition to the local bowling hall, Montgomery also was a member of the Lancaster County Softball Hall of Fame.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lancaster USBC Youth, 3440 Columbia Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603, for a youth scholarship fund in Montgomery’ memory.
