A member-submitted proposal that could result in United States Bowling Congress national dues increasing by as much as 50% will be put before USBC Annual Meeting delegates this spring.

Seven proposals involving changes to bylaws, league rules and tournament rules will be decided by delegates at the 2016 USBC Convention and Annual Meeting, scheduled for April 26-29 at The Orleans in Las Vegas.

Among the four proposals to USBC national bylaws is one that would increase national dues for the first time in 10 years. The present bylaw states dues cannot exceed $10; the proposal asks to raise the dues ceiling to $15. The proposal is recommended for approval by the USBC Board of Directors.

Two other bylaw proposals seek to require non-merged local and non-merged state associations to merge by Aug. 1, 2018. Similar proposals have been voted upon several times in the past, but failed to gain sufficient support for passage.

Delegates also will vote on two proposals related to league rules and one tournament rules proposal. The tournament rule proposal would require bowlers to report any previous tournament adjustment/rerate unless tournament rules state otherwise.
