PWBA Summer Series - Cleveland set to award three titles this week

PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour is off to the Cleveland area this week for the PWBA Summer Series – Cleveland, which will see three titles awarded over the course of seven days at Yorktown Lanes in Parma Heights, Ohio.
The PWBA has found something of a home at Yorktown Lanes in recent years.
The center last hosted a PWBA Tour stop in 2023 for the PWBA Bowlers Journal Cleveland Open, which saw Jordan Snodgrass (then known as Jordan Richard) win her third title of the season on the way to 2023 PWBA Player of the Year honors.
Yorktown also hosted the 2024 PWBA Cleveland Regional that crowned Melissa Voytko of Brunswick, Ohio, a regional champion.
The talented ladies of the PWBA Tour will make their way back to Parma Heights for this week’s Summer Series before returning for PWBA Tour Championship Week in 2026.
This year’s Summer Series will include the PWBA Cleveland Open, the PWBA BowlTV Open and the PWBA Rock ‘n’ Roll Open, all of which will employ varying formats and will not be tied together like the PWBA Classic Series that has been used in past years.
PWBA Summer Series – Cleveland begins on Tuesday with the tournament’s official practice session and the popular Bowl with the Pros pro-am event.
Practice will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Eastern and give competitors the opportunity to familiarize themselves with all three patterns being used for the week. Bowl with the Pros will follow at 6 p.m. Eastern.
Wednesday will be the official start of competition for the PWBA Cleveland Open as two rounds of qualifying at 10 a.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Eastern will determine the top 16 for round-robin match play on Thursday.
After two rounds of matches at 9 a.m. Eastern and 3 p.m. Eastern, the top five will advance to the stepladder finals Thursday night at 7 p.m. Eastern to hand out the first title of the week.
Friday will be the start of the PWBA BowlTV Open. Two rounds of qualifying will occur, one at 10 a.m. Eastern and the other at 5 p.m. Eastern, before a cut to the top 12 is made for two rounds of round-robin match play on Saturday - 9 a.m. Eastern and 2 p.m. Eastern.
The top five after match play will head to the stepladder finals starting at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Saturday night to compete for the second title of the week.
The PWBA Rock ‘n’ Roll Open will begin like the two preceding tournaments with two rounds of qualifying, the first on June 1 at 10 a.m. Eastern and the second at 5 p.m. Eastern. The top 16 will then advance to a single-elimination match-play bracket on June 2. The Round of 16 at 9 a.m. Eastern and Round of 8 at 2 p.m. Eastern will be best-of-five matches.
Once the bracket is down to the final four, the semifinals and championship match will be one-game matches to determine the Rock ‘n’ Roll Open winner. That round will start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
All rounds of competition at all three Summer Series events will be aired live on BowlTV.
