Receive the latest news from USBC via Twitter
If you want to be the first to learn the latest news from the United States Bowling Congress, you now can have it delivered straight to your mobile phone.
Anyone can receive the latest USBC information with a simple three-step process. Go to twitter.com and create a free account; add your cell phone number to your twitter.com "profile"; then send the text message "follow USBC" (no quotations) to 40404. The mobile device that sends that text message will then receive the latest news and information from USBC. On a typical day, users of this service can expect up to four text messages.
"USBC is always looking at new ways to communicate with its members," said USBC Managing Director of Media Pete Tredwell. "By having news delivered to their cell phones, USBC members can stay on top of developments at USBC Headquarters."
Types of news stories that would appear as text messages include:
* News headlines before they are formally released
* Alerts about updated content on BOWL.com
* Honor scores and lead changes at the Open and Women's Championships
* Reminders of important tournament deadlines
* Deals from Member Rewards partners
Standard text messaging rates from your cellular carrier do apply, but there is no additional charge from USBC for this service. The service can be canceled any time by sending the text message "OFF @USBC" (no quotations) to 40404.
