Retro Roll: 1999 USBC Queens
April 08, 2011
With the 2011 USBC Queens just around the corner, we take a look back at the star-studded title match that concluded the 1999 event. Two of the greatest players in women's bowling history collided for the 1999 title, when USBC Hall of Famer Leanne Barrette-Hulsenberg (then Leanne Barrette) met nine-time ladies' tour titlist and 1991 Queens champion Dede Davidson. Barrette-Hulsenberg was chasing the first major of her Hall of Fame career that day, and her performance proved that she wanted it badly. She makes a bid for a perfect game when she starts with the front six strikes, going on to win the title and take a huge step toward her eventual induction into the USBC Hall of Fame in 2008. Click the video below to watch how history unfolded that day.
