Royal Pin Woodland to host U.S. Open in 2028 and 2029, U.S. Women's Open in 2028
September 18, 2025

ARLINGTON, Texas – The United States Bowling Congress and Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America have announced an agreement that will make Royal Pin Woodland the host for the 2028 and 2029 editions of the U.S. Open. The U.S. Women’s Open will also be heading to Indianapolis in 2028.
With the agreement, the iconic 70-lane venue will have hosted eight consecutive editions of the U.S. Open by 2029 while the U.S. Women’s Open, a major on the Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour, will have made three trips to Royal Pin Woodland in five years by 2028.
In 2024, the PWBA Tour returned to Royal Pin Woodland for the first time since the tour’s relaunch in 2015 and saw Malaysia’s Sin Li Jane win the U.S. Women’s Open title on her way to 2024 PWBA Player of the Year honors.
EJ Tackett of Bluffton, Indiana, won the 2025 edition of the U.S. Open to collect his second career victory at one of bowling’s most prestigious major championships.
The 2026 U.S. Women’s Open will be held June 9-16 and will be the second major tournament of the season on the PWBA Tour.
“Royal Pin Entertainment is proud to continue its commitment to professional bowling at the highest level by hosting the U.S. Open in 2028 and 2029 as well as the 2028 U.S. Women’s Open,” said Jimmy Clapper, General Manager of Royal Pin Entertainment. “For decades, Royal Pin Woodland has been the stage for unforgettable moments and iconic champions. We are excited to continue building on that legacy by celebrating and showcasing the very best in the sport for years to come.”
With a combined six U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open competitions being held at Royal Pin Woodland over the next four years, the venue will continue its own tradition of hosting major championships. It also remains the only venue to have hosted every Professional Bowlers Association major championship.
In addition to its history with the U.S. Open, including both the men’s and women’s events in 1996 (qualifying and match play before the finals took place at Market Square Arena), Royal Pin Woodland has hosted 40 PBA Tour stops as well as the USBC Masters and Junior Gold Championships over a span of 44 years.
