ARLINGTON, Texas - The sold-out field at the 2016 United States Bowling Congress Masters now will include an additional 36 bowlers and a prize fund of $295,000 when it returns to Indianapolis next week for the first time since 1974.

All 70 lanes at Woodland Bowl will be in use Feb. 8-14 as 420 of the best bowlers in the world, including three-time defending champion Jason Belmonte of Australia, meet for a chance at the USBC Masters trophy and $50,000 top prize.

The event initially filled at 384 entries, but a standby list of more than 65 bowlers prompted logistical adjustments allowing the increase in field size. This marks the fourth consecutive sellout for the Masters, which was held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 2015 and has a history dating back to 1951.

"Expanding a sellout field is a great thing to be able to do, and I want to thank Woodland Bowl and the PBA for their help in making this possible," USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. "An extra 36 bowlers will experience the USBC Masters, and the exceptional demand for this event is awesome to see. It really demonstrates a strong future for the sport."

All players will bowl 15 games of qualifying over three days to determine the match-play field. The top 63 players will join Belmonte in the tournament's traditional three-game, double-elimination bracket, while 105 players overall will earn a share of the prize fund. The final cash spot will earn $1,200, up from $1,000 in 2015.

The five bowlers who navigate through the bracket will compete in the stepladder finals, live on ESPN at 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, Feb. 14.

The 2016 Masters is a major event on the PBA Tour.
