PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio – The final Professional Women’s Bowling Association Summer Series event at Yorktown Lanes continued the theme of high scores being bowled with Jordan Snodgrass of Adrian, Michigan, leading the way at the PWBA Rock ‘n’ Roll Open with a 12-game qualifying total of 3,018, setting a new 12-game qualifying record since the PWBA Tour relaunched in 2015.
She will be the No. 1 seed in Monday’s single-elimination match-play bracket, where pins will drop and matches will be best-of-five in the Round of 16 and Round of 8 before switching to single-game matches for the semifinals and finals, the Championship Round. That won’t change how the five-time titlist approaches each match, however.
“It’s the same mindset (as before), you still have to bowl three to five good games,” said Snodgrass. “You’re still bowling the pins instead of an opponent, your score just has to be higher, but I like the format.”
Joining Snodgrass in the bracket will be 15 other competitors, in order of seeding: Ukraine’s Dasha Kovalova (2,897); Kirsten Moore of Tallmadge, Ohio (2,757); Singapore’s New Hui Fen (2,739); Poland’s Daria Pajak (2,739); Julia Bond of Aurora, Illinois (2,735); Elysia Current of Middletown, Delaware (2,730); Malaysia’s Gillian Lim (2,708); Malaysia’s Sin Li Jane (2,708); Latvia’s Diana Zavjalova (2,708); Alexis Runk of Milton, Pennsylvania (2,693); Jillian Martin of Stow, Ohio (2,688); Sweden’s Anneli Blomqvist (2,681); Ashly Galante of Palm Harbor, Florida (2,674); Malaysia’s Alisha Abdullah (2,671); and Lindsay Boomershine of Brigham City, Utah (2,669).
Snodgrass was quick to credit husband and Professional Bowlers Association regional titlist, Frank, with being an extra pair of eyes, allowing Jordan to stay ahead of moves and stay locked in while heading to the top spot.
“When I have someone behind me watching every shot and can help me every shot, I use it to my advantage and it’s nice,” Jordan said. “I’m very fortunate to have him with me every week.”
Snodgrass also has winning experience at Yorktown, winning in 2023 at the PWBA Bowlers Journal Cleveland Open.
“My ball roll matches up really well here so I had a really good day and hope it continues into tomorrow,” said Snodgrass.
The Round of 16 will start at 9 a.m. Eastern, while the Round of 8 is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern, before the Championship Round (final four) at 6:30 p.m. Eastern. All rounds will be aired live on BowlTV and conclude the PWBA Summer Series.
