Statesboro gets FEC
Ever hear the Allman Brothers sing “Statesboro Blues”?
It was a cover of a tune written in the 1920s by Blind Willie McTell, and it was about the town of Stateboro in southeast Georgia — now the home of Georgia Southern University.
The blues have disappeared in Statesboro, however, with the opening of The Clubhouse, a new family entertainment center that features:
• A 20-lane bowling area, featuring QubicaAMF equipment.
• A 4-lane private bowling room.
• Themed mini bowling.
• Miniature golf.
• A golf driving range.
• A Ballocity soft play area for small children.
• Laser tag.
• Batting cages.
• A full-service restaurant called Spikes Sports Grill.
The state-of-the-art facility is owned by Tony Ross and Darin Van Tassel, and is styled after a 1940s-era sports stadium. Design services were provided by Dynamic Designs, while Studio 41b handled much of the themed interior fabrication.
